Ace Combat 5 – Into the Dusk

I’ve never played any of the Ace Combat games. My introduction to the series was via the opening theme of Ace Combat 5 – The Unsung War:

I was rather excited when I got a request to arrange some sheet music for Into the Dusk. While not quite as epic as the opening/main theme, Keiki Kobayashi’s touch just works wonders for the entire soundtrack. To clarify: this song:

Here’s some sheet music for your enjoyment. This is a somewhat difficult/high-intermediate arrangement. Ignore the notes you can’t reach, or just arpeggiate them. I’m quite aware that some folks don’t have a 10-note hand span, but I rarely write with consideration :)

You Are the Pan – Hook

Anyone who grew up in the 90s has probably seen Spielberg’s highly underrated classic Hook, which remains one of my favorite films that deal with nostalgia, growing up, and embracing the future.

The soundtrack is by the ever-wonderful John Williams. Someone recently requested some sheet music for You Are the Pan, so I created some.

L.A. Noire Main Theme

My love for Rockstar Games dates back to GTA2, so I quite naturally had a blast watching people play L.A. Noire. Andrew Hale’s fantastic soundtrack has been the sound-scape backdrop of my workday for the past few weeks.

I was quite happy when someone commissioned me (quite a while ago) to arrange the Main Theme from the soundtrack. Here is a rough transcription for a basic jazz ensemble: alto sax, trumpet, piano/keyboard, vibraphone, bass. Drums omitted, sorry.

Game, soundtrack, logo, and everything L.A. Noire is © Rockstar Games. You guys rock.

The Mummy – Imhotep

Another finished request, from the ever-perplexing genius composer Jerry Goldsmith. © Universal, BMI.

Like most of Goldsmith’s scores, meter and key signature are highly variable, and tend to change ad nauseam. I also arranged it with more vigor for accuracy than anything, and lost track of the difficulty. One a scale from one to difficult, it’s “oh god, why!” Have fun:
