Monochrome – Yann Tiersen

This is a request that dates back quite a while. Here is Monochrome, by Yann Tiersen. Today felt like the perfect day to finish and post it: it’s Tiersen’s birthday. I fell in love with him back in the days of Amélie. I did my best to emulate the style of official piano-solo arrangements by him (aka, his arrangers and publishing houses.)

I had this sitting in the archives since 2008 – looks like I never posted it. I remember having reservations about publishing it, obviously.

The original reason for arranging this song was so I could sit down at a piano, preferably at a convention like Fanime, and watch the horrified expressions of passerbys who recognized it.

Hideo concert – the album

Last year, I had the privilege to perform with a group of video game musicians. They also recently performed a shorter version of their setlist at Fanime 2011.

I just found out that they brought out an EP album. While I’m not part of it, I’m honored to say that I know all these people! You should get the album – it’s fantastic.
