How to Train Your Dragon – Forbidden Friendship (Beginner)

Along the same lines as a much-simplified version of Test Drive for beginning piano players, here is Forbidden Friendship, the most powerful of

Forbidden Friendship (beginner)

I’m fairly new to arranging pieces way below my level, and I’m sometimes having trouble gauging levels. This is perhaps a 2… a 3? What do you think?

As usual, all How to Train Your Dragon sheet music is available here!

  1. I think you did pretty well with this. The midi sounded pretty good and not that challenging – yet it still gives a good feel for the song.

Wish I could play the hard version. :D

  2. I’m going to have to say I am very thankful that this wasn’t available last year when I found all your HTTYD sheets. Your Forbidden Friendship arrangement was the reason I started playing the piano. I thought, “I’d be willing to do whatever it takes if I could just play that.” I knew the hard version was suicide (if not impossible due to my small hands), so I tried to learn the easier version, which is still a challenge in itself. It took me six months, but I’ve finally learned how to play it well enough to perform. If I had had this, I wouldn’t have wanted to go any farther or try harder and I don’t think I’d be as good as I am today.

Tl;dr: I went from never playing the piano before to a intermediate player, without any lessons and solely on self-teaching and willpower, because I wanted to play Forbidden Friendship.
