I just finished sheet music for the second track from The Hunger Games score, Katniss Afoot. This one was tricky, but fun. Simplifying a folk rhythm enough to keep the intent of the original song, while making sure everything’s still playable, is quite the the fun challenge.
Another fantastic song from the Hunger Games soundtrack is Horn of Plenty. This is the ironically victorious and triumphant music playing while the tributes ride into the Capitol on chariots.
I saw The Hunger Games at midnight when it came out. Fantastic movie – I can highly recommend it to anyone. I’m sure you know that I’m obsessed by now if you follow me anywhere. If Hunger Games isn’t your cup of tea – don’t worry, more Mass Effect and Minecraft things are in the works.
The most touching part of the whole two-and-a-half epic adventure is of course, the namesake for this post: Rue’s Farewell. Those familiar with the plot will know what scene I’m referring to. Here’s some sheet music I made for the song.
And now excuse me – I’ve got uh, something in my eye.
Performance
Edit 3/28/2012: I recorded myself performing the song.
