The Hunger Games score – Rue’s Farewell

I saw The Hunger Games at midnight when it came out. Fantastic movie – I can highly recommend it to anyone. I’m sure you know that I’m obsessed by now if you follow me anywhere. If Hunger Games isn’t your cup of tea – don’t worry, more Mass Effect and Minecraft things are in the works.

The most touching part of the whole two-and-a-half epic adventure is of course, the namesake for this post: Rue’s Farewell. Those familiar with the plot will know what scene I’m referring to. Here’s some sheet music I made for the song.

And now excuse me – I’ve got uh, something in my eye.

Performance

Edit 3/28/2012: I recorded myself performing the song.

You Are the Pan – Hook

Anyone who grew up in the 90s has probably seen Spielberg’s highly underrated classic Hook, which remains one of my favorite films that deal with nostalgia, growing up, and embracing the future.

The soundtrack is by the ever-wonderful John Williams. Someone recently requested some sheet music for You Are the Pan, so I created some.

Mockingjay Call – Rue’s theme

Perhaps it’s not a good idea to get this hyped up for The Hunger Games when it’s not coming out until March 2012.

Anyhow, here’s sheet music to the Mockingjay Call – the whistled melody representing freedom. We find out about from Rue in the books, and first heard it at the end of the first trailer (below). It’s most likely composed by James Newton Howard and is © Lions Gate Entertainment. I made some sheet music for it.

How to Train Your Dragon – flute sheet music

I’ve gotten quite a few requests for flute-solo sheet music of some of the How to Train Your Dragon songs. Here’s Romantic Flight. I may make more in the future.

Also, allow me to preface this publication with the fact that I’m not a wind-instrumentalist (yet), and that the word “embouchure” still sounds like a French dessert to me.
